The President of the House of Representatives Demetris Syllouris pledged to promote Famagusta issue through the channels of parliamentary diplomacy.
According to the Cyprus News Agency, Syllouris held a meeting on August 5 with members of the Initiative Group “Famagusta our town”.
The meeting took place on the occasion of the annual anti-occupation event to take place on Saturday, organised by Famagusta Municipality.
The House President said after the meeting that they discussed the reconstruction of Famagusta in a practical and concrete way.
He also assured the members of the Group that he will promote their demand regarding the occupied city.
On his part the member of the Group Christakis Nikita expressed their readiness to cooperate with the House of Representatives in order to promote the issue of Famagusta.
