President Anastasiades has expressed certainty that Cyprus will be reunited by the end of his term in office.
Addressing the pancyprian conference of the ruling Democratic Rally, which he presided before winning the presidential elections in 2013, Anastasiades said that by the end of his five year term, "everyone will feel proud once again because at least, we will hand over a reunited country, a country which will guarantee the future, a prosperous country, a European and modern country”.
He told participants at the conference of his efforts to reunite the island, noting that significant progress has been achieved but there is still important work that needs to be done, the Cyprus News Agency reports.
