King Abdullah II of Jordan has decorated Cypriot Ambassador to Amman, Charalambos Hadjisavvas, with the First Class Medal of the Order of Independence.
The award has been extended to Hadjisavvas for his contribution towards developing bilateral relations between the Republic of Cyprus and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and for his efforts in preparing the official visit of President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades to Jordan from November 10 to 12, 2015.
The ceremony took place on Wedneday at the Palace, during a farewell hearing of Hadjisavvas with the King.
The First Class Medal of the Order of Independence is awarded by the King of Jordan very rarely, to persons who have made a significant contribution to the country.
