Austrian Federal Minister of Justice Wolfgang Brandstetter will pay an official visit to Cyprus on November 3-4, the Cyprus News Agency reports.
According to a press release issued by the Austrian Embassy, during his stay in Cyprus, Brandstetter will give a lecture at the European University of Cyprus and will hold separate meetings with Cypriot officials.
On November 3, the Austrian Minister, an eminent jurist, practicing as lawyer and academic, will be giving a lecture at the Cultural Centre of the European University Cyprus on the “Legal Challenges of Hate Crime and Hate Speech in Europe”.
The same day, Brandstetter will meet with the members of the Parliamentary Committee of Legal Affairs and its President, George Georgiou.
On November 4, the Austrian Minister will hold consecutive meetings with the President of the Supreme Court, Myron Nicolatos, the Attorney General, Costas Clerides, and his counterpart the Cyprus Minister of Justice and Public Order Ionas Nicolaou.
The talks with the state officials will focus on issues such as Terrorism, Combating Corruption, Protection of Whistleblowers, Management of Prisons and Alternative Measures to Imprisonment, the Austrian Embassy added.
